Application of Pyrite ore powder in Resin Bonded Abrasive Wheels:
Applicable Abrasive Wheel Types
Mainly used in resin bonded abrasive wheels, especially for dry grinding and heavy-duty working conditions:
Resin cutting discs and ultra-thin cutting discs (for cutting carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel)
Resin angle grinding discs and flexible grinding wheels (for handheld dry cutting and grinding)
Rough grinding wheels and rail grinding wheels
Heavy-duty grinding wheels (for high-strength and high-heat-load grinding)
Core Functions
High-temperature heat absorption and cooling
Pyrite decomposes and absorbs heat under high grinding temperature, generating SO₂ and Fe₂O₃ to dissipate heat rapidly, preventing ablation of the abrasive wheel, annealing and burning of workpieces.
Self-lubrication and friction reduction
It forms a softened or molten lubricating phase at high temperatures, reducing the friction coefficient, minimizing wheel wear and prolonging service life.
Chemical grinding aid (anti-loading)
Releases active sulfur to form a sulfide lubricating film on metal surfaces, effectively preventing chip adhesion to the wheel and workpiece, improving cutting efficiency and surface quality.
Improved wheel forming performance
As a filler, it enhances green strength and compactness, optimizes pore structure, and strengthens the bonding strength between resin binder and abrasive grains.
Suitability for dry grinding
Replaces part of the lubricating function, especially suitable for dry cutting and grinding without cooling fluid, with remarkable effects on stainless steel and alloy steel.
