Application of Iron sulfide 3-35mm in Wastewater Treatment
The most prominent characteristics of large granular pyrite ore are good fluidity, low clogging risk and stable long-term operation. It is mainly used as an inert carrier or reactive filler for constructing long-life, low-maintenance static or dynamic wastewater treatment systems.
Core Application Scenarios and Mechanisms
Sulfur Autotrophic Denitrification Filter
With moderate specific surface area and excellent water permeability, it provides a biofilm carrier for sulfur autotrophic denitrifying bacteria.
Applications: upgrading of municipal wastewater treatment plant effluent, centralized rural sewage treatment stations, eutrophication control of lakes (simultaneous nitrogen and phosphorus removal).
Constructed Wetlands and Ecological Ditches
Used as the bottom matrix in subsurface flow constructed wetlands. It can physically intercept suspended solids, slowly release trace elements to promote root growth of wetland plants, and provide in-situ nitrogen and phosphorus removal.
Applications: decentralized rural sewage, ecological restoration of black and odorous water bodies, riparian ecological buffer zones.
Neutralization and Precipitation Tank (Static Phosphorus Removal)
Directly added or piled in reaction tanks. It slowly dissolves iron ions and alkaline components, which chemically react with phosphate in wastewater to form precipitates for phosphorus removal.
Applications: pretreatment of low-concentration phosphorus-containing wastewater, interception of agricultural non-point source pollution.
