Industrial aluminum sulfate (Al₂(SO₄)₃) is an inorganic flocculant, coagulant and precipitant, widely used in water treatment, papermaking, printing and dyeing, building materials, chemical industry and other industries. Its core functions include flocculation, precipitation, decolorization, color fixation, pH adjustment and corrosion prevention.
Water Treatment Industry (Primary Application)
Functions: Coagulation, turbidity removal, decolorization, phosphorus removal, heavy metal removal
Waterworks: Removes suspended solids, colloids and algae in water to clarify the water;
Sewage treatment plants: Treats domestic sewage and industrial wastewater to reduce COD, SS and chroma;
Printing and dyeing/chemical wastewater: Precipitates dyes and heavy metal ions (iron, copper, zinc, etc.);
Phosphorus removal: Reacts with phosphate to form precipitates for phosphorus removal in sewage.
Papermaking Industry (Secondary Application)
Functions: Sizing, retention aid, filtration aid, paper strength enhancement
Adjusts the pH of pulp to precipitate sizing agents such as rosin size on the fiber surface, improving the water resistance and opacity of paper;
Acts as a filler retention aid to reduce the loss of fine fibers and enhance paper strength and yield.
Printing and Dyeing Textile Industry
Functions: Mordant, color fixing agent, resist agent
Serves as a mordant for natural dyes (alizarin, logwood, etc.) to make dyes firmly adhere to fibers;
Used for color fixation of cotton, linen and silk fabrics to improve color fastness and prevent fading.
Building Materials Industry (Concrete, Refractory Materials)
Functions: Accelerating setting, strengthening, bonding
Concrete admixture: Accelerates cement hydration and improves early strength;
